I’ve had this account since 2008 and have never had any intent to deceive or be someone else. Everyone associated to me knows it’s me. But this is what keeps my family informed – and yet safe when I travel. If Facebook accepted reasonable proof from the individual that their account is legitimately tied to a human being what is the problem?
In the past 10 days or so Facebook has been on a mission to purge pet/human accounts from its walls. Friend after friend is disappearing without a trace or warning. I suppose these are some of the easiest accounts to purge. The problem is this, what does Facebook do to monitor and delete the accounts of predators, criminals and other unsavoury characters that actually prowl the walls looking for victims and opportunities? The answer is not much. Each day people are scammed by profiles that scam, hack and send phishing links in emails to innocent users.
